Your new work environment

As Communications Manager Leadership & Strategy Communications, you assume end-to-end responsibility for coordinating communications strategies for Ahold Delhaize at the Group level and supporting the businesses in delivering their objectives. This role serves senior functional and executive management. The role largely boils down to a mix of managing communication strategies and projects, serving as a business partner, trusted communications advisor, and key point of contact for the internal communication of a few corporate function areas, departments and campaigns (Human Resources and Ahold Delhaize Group). In addition, you must manage relationships with brands and their communications teams to ensure story flow and development, seeking out and pursuing strategy-proof points and other interesting and compelling content and stories across the Group.

The Ahold Delhaize Leadership & Strategy Communications team is focused on being a Center of Excellence for Global Leadership & Strategy communications, channel and brand management for Ahold Delhaize. We enable successful leadership and support Ahold Delhaize’s business strategy with effective communications advice and visual branding while inspiring associates to feel proud about and support the purpose-led, inclusive, healthy and sustainable food retail company they are part of. Key responsibilities of your role

Your role is highly diverse and encompasses various responsibilities. Here are the key ones:

  • Support Ahold Delhaize to deliver the Growing Together strategy through strategic communications planning and campaign management.
  • Serving as communications business partner in the specified area (Human Resources and Ahold Delhaize Group)
  • Provide advice, coaching and expertise to internal (Functional Leadership - HR) stakeholders to ensure all communication activities are aligned

Requirements

We think you’ll be best geared for success if you meet the following requirements:

  • Combine at least a Bachelor's degree with experience in high-calibre internal or external communications
  • Have over five years of external or internal communications experience in a leading multinational or agency environment.
  • Have excellent knowledge, understanding of and insight into building internal communication strategies; or track record in delivering leadership and strategy communications programs.
  • Know about brand, channel and internal communication management in an international environment.
  • Have a successful track record of partnering with senior management to support internal communication programs.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create inspiring and creative articles, videos and presentations
  • Native English speaker with Dutch comprehension. Or a near-native English speaker with proficiency in Dutch.
