Kom jij ons versterken?

We are looking for an Associate Investment Manager for our Credit team. In this role, your core responsibility is to analyze companies in different sectors and regions. The main focus of the role is using fundamental analysis. You will contribute to the active investment process with a strong bottom-up approach for the two mandates of the Credit cluster. That means that you will not only be responsible for credit analysis, but also for translating that into an investment view (including relative value) for your sector(s).

Your Job as an Associate Investment Manager

The job is constructed in two dimensions. First, you will increase your knowledge of how to perform fundamental credit analyses on issuers in the several corporate sectors. Together with a team of dedicated colleagues, you are responsible for two mandates: the Global Credit mandate and the Euro IG Credit mandate. By analyzing the strategy, positioning, financial and sustainability data of issuers, we assess the quality of all companies we invest in and build a portfolio based on this knowledge. Second, you will also work closely together with the Portfolio Managers. You will act as the specialist for your names in the portfolio and play a pivotal role in the portfolio construction phase.

A Typical Workday…

At the start of the day, you screen for material information about the companies that we are invested in and determine its impact. During your workday, you process data that gives further insights into our risk exposures and potential investment opportunities as well as create reports and work on (quantitative or sustainability) related material for various meetings with other departments within PGGM. You combine these tasks with performing fundamental analysis of companies under our coverage and assess whether they add value to our portfolio. You are actively involved in discussions with your team members about portfolio positioning.

The Credit Team

You will be working together with 19 colleagues in the Credit Team, which currently manages around EUR 15 billion in corporate bonds, spread across the global credit universe. The team is very diverse, with international backgrounds, with communication in the team done in English. The team manages two mandates. The Global Credit mandate invests in bonds and loans globally and is focused on both Investment Grade and High-Yield companies. The Euro IG Credit mandate is focused on the Euro Investment Grade segment. Realizing a strong financial and sustainable return is our main goal, and we analyze companies across three dimensions: return, risk, and sustainability.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for an ambitious and performance-driven team player with a financial background and broad asset management interest. You enjoy analyzing companies, based on a bottom-up approach, and want to contribute to the performance of the portfolio. ESG and impact assessments have become an important part of this analysis. At the same time, you have a keen interest in the world around you and want to learn more about both micro- and macroeconomic factors and how these impact the corporate bond market. You enjoy working closely with a team of dedicated colleagues and enjoy having lively discussions with them. Besides these qualifications, we would require the following attributes for this position:

2 to 5 years of investment experience with a focus on credit investments. Knowledge of the High Yield market is an advantage.
  • Master’s degree with a financial nature (e.g. finance and/or investments).
  • Strong interest in financial markets.
  • A CFA and/or VBA degree or the willingness to obtain such a degree.
  • Analytical skills, attention to details, ability to carry out financial and business analyses, and a critical mind.
  • Pro-active, eager to learn and have a flexible work attitude.
  • Fluent language and writing skills in English.

What We Offer

We reward our employees for their commitment and hard work and value a good work-life balance. It goes without saying that we would like you to continue your own personal development and offer you the tools to do so.

A challenging role that requires strong quantitative, analytical, and investment skills.
  • A competitive salary package, consisting of 12 months salary, a 13th month, holiday pay, and variable pay.
  • Flexibility in working hours and options to work from home.
  • A good pension arrangement as a participant in the pension scheme of PFZW.
  • More information about the terms and conditions of working at PGGM and on additional arrangements can be found in our CAO.
