How you can make your mark

You will make your mark as Manager Global Mobility Desk being responsible for setting up the new Boskalis Global Mobility Desk and overseeing and managing all aspects of our global mobility programs, including expatriate assignments, permanent relocations, and short-term assignments. You will ensure compliance with immigration laws, tax regulations, and company policies in all countries of operation. Together with your team of three professionals you will develop and implement global mobility policies and procedures to streamline processes and improve efficiency, providing guidance and support to employees and managers on all aspects of global mobility.

As Manager Global Mobility Desk you will collaborate with various internal stakeholders, including HR, finance, tax and legal teams, to manage the financial and legal aspects of global mobility programs. You will also collaborate with external vendors and service providers to facilitate employee relocations, including visa processing, housing, and other relocation services.

You have a strong background in global mobility management, with excellent organizational and project management skills. You are able to adept at navigating complex international regulations and possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as the role requires interaction with employees at all levels of the organization and across different cultures.

Your responsibilities as Manager Global Mobility Desk

  • Manage the team by overseeing the daily activities of the Global Mobility Desk team, including task delegation, performance evaluation, and providing support and guidance to team members.
  • Facilitate seamless communication and execution of mobility processes among all relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with immigration laws, tax regulations, and company policies in all countries of operation.
  • Ensure all steps in processes and checklists, such as feasibility studies and project planning, are completed accurately in close collaboration with the business.
  • Develop and implement global mobility policies and procedures to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Maintain and evolve up-to-date knowledge of visa and work permit requirements for various countries, ensuring accurate information is readily available for stakeholders. Create and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base.
  • Coordinate the execution, social security assessments and ensure that stakeholders are informed about relevant requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on all aspects of global mobility, including policy interpretation, compensation, and benefits.
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of global mobility processes to ensure alignment with best practices and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with HR, finance, tax and legal teams to manage the financial and legal aspects of global mobility programs.
  • Prepare and present reports on global mobility metrics and trends to senior management.
  • Stay updated on global mobility trends, best practices, and legal changes to ensure the company remains compliant and competitive.

Your qualities and experience
You can move ahead as a Manager Global Mobility Desk if you have:

  • A bachelor or master degree in Business Administration, (Tax) Law or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in global mobility management.
  • Strong knowledge of immigration laws, tax regulations, and global mobility best practices.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a high level of cultural sensitivity and awareness.
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to align global mobility programs with business objectives.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

Extra information

  • Your team: In the role of Manager Global Mobility Desk you will manage your team of three Global Mobility Desk Support colleagues and will work together with the HR, Finance, Tax, Operations teams, Business Units (Controllers), Vendors and service providers and Crewing departments. In this role you will directly report to the Group HR Director.
  • Where you will work: In consultation with your manager and your team, you work partly at home and partly in the office.
  • Full/part-time job: The position of Manager Global Mobility Desk is preferably a full-time job (min 32 hours).
