As a geotechnical specialist in dike safety, you work on solutions for challenges in the field of water safety. Currently, we are working on strengthening the dikes in the Netherlands, including the IJsselmeer dike and the dikes along the Lek and Waal rivers. On the other side of the world, we are also responsible for designing the first polder in Singapore and creating coastal protection plans for Mozambique.
You work in multidisciplinary project teams on challenging and complex issues related to water safety and flood risk, both in the Netherlands and globally. With your technical knowledge, you assist our clients in finding reliable and integrated solutions of high quality, based on the latest insights in the field of water safety. This allows us to create safe and healthy river areas, coasts, and deltas with enhanced natural resilience.

Not every project ends with giving advice. You will also occasionally be present at the construction site to monitor whether everything is being executed according to the advice. During a project, you maintain an overview and guide less experienced colleagues in their tasks.

As a geotechnical specialist in dike safety, you are part of a team of 15 geotechnical specialists within the Resilience & Maritime NL Advisory Group. The advisory group consists of around 240 colleagues, distributed across offices in Amersfoort, Rotterdam, and Nijmegen. The advisory group works on various projects in areas such as flood protection, ports, coastal defense, land reclamation, offshore wind, and climate adaptation. As a geotechnical specialist in dike safety, you collaborate extensively with colleagues from within the advisory group, as well as with other geotechnical specialists from different advisory groups who are also specialized in dike safety. We value the development, sharing, and application of knowledge and experience.
You have relevant work experience with projects related to water safety and flood risk, as well as experience with the application of Dutch water safety standards (WBI, OI) in the design and assessment of water safety structures. You are open to a work environment with a focus on digitalization and the development of digital services.
