Are you considering a career in live events or want to develop the skills to succeed in communication-focused roles such as stakeholder management, event operations, or conference content production?

We’re looking for a highly-motivated, social, and structured individual to join our event content and operations team as an intern. You’ll get to liaison between different business stakeholders like production suppliers, marketing, content, and sales teams, beef up your network of tech leaders, startup founders, and investors, while working to build the best events in the tech industry.

This position is perfect for someone outgoing who finds it easy to establish (formal) relationships, is brave and creative about cold outreach to senior people, and can work individually but is also a real team-player.

About us

The Next Web (TNW) is a global brand and a Financial Times Company that informs, inspires, and connects people who love technology through media, events, spaces, and programs.

TNW Conference isn’t like any other event you’ve ever experienced before. Our annual 2-day event has all the benefits of a conference (business, networking, quality content), with the vibe of a festival (drinks, games, live music, and more).

We pride ourselves on the speakers we host such as Guy Kawasaki, Tim Ferris, Edward Snowden, and many others, our partners such as Google, PwC, EY, etc., and the high level of production we maintain year after year. This year we even won an award by the Golden Giraffe Event Awards for the most sustainable concept with our 2023 edition for the successful waste reduction and reusable system that we have in place.

TNW Conference will take place on June 19 & 20 at NDSM, Amsterdam and will be part of Amsterdam's 750th anniversary.

The role

  • Help with organising side-events such as opening & closing parties by coordinating with venues, arranging bands & DJs, and catering.
  • Assist with initial project launches for white-label events and keep track of key milestones and deliverables.
  • Help create fun and interactive entertainment during the conference by finding ways to collaborate with artists or companies that can showcase innovative tech products.
  • Manage the volunteer program by reviewing candidates, assigning roles and responsibilities, writing and updating the volunteer guidebook, etc.
  • Help us improve our sustainability program - research new sustainability initiatives that could be implemented, find fun ways for attendees to engage.
  • Help coordinate information related to signage and design deliverables.
