Job Title: Degree Apprentice Combat Systems Graduate Engineer

What you will be doing

Your working days will be varied with time spent at university and within the workplace developing your skills. Every day you will be building your knowledge and gaining technical abilities in key engineering disciplines including:

  • Combat Systems Integration
  • Product Safety
  • Combat Systems Engineering
  • Network Engineering

All of these achievements will give you a firm footing on your journey to your desired career – particularly well into a range of roles within Combat Systems like a Physical Integration Engineer.

Specific activities could include:

As a Combat Systems Engineering Graduate Apprentice, you will be working with a team of highly skilled, dedicated employees and fellow apprentices from across our Naval Ships business. You’ll be part of a team that designs, manufactures and integrates the next generation of complex surface ships and combat systems for customers around the world, including the Royal Navy.

Export Control / Security

Please be aware that many roles at BAE Systems are subject to both security and export control restrictions. These restrictions mean that factors such as your nationality, any nationalities you may have previously held, and your place of birth can restrict the roles you are eligible to perform within the organisation. All applicants must as a minimum achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.

Qualification requirements

5 National 5s including English, Maths and Science or a technical subject at Grade C or above (or equivalent), plus, 4 Highers with a minimum of 2 at Grade B or above including English, Maths and Science or a technical subject (excluding Application of Maths).
