We are seeking a detail-oriented self-starter to join Stahl as an Assistant Financial Controller in an international and dynamic environment. In this role, you will have an important part in the financial consolidation process and the preparation of essential financial reports for Stahl. Your ability to prioritize tasks effectively will be crucial as you contribute to our success.

What are you going to do?

As Assistant Financial Controller you will have an active role in the financial consolidation process and preparation of (financial) reports for Stahl. You will be involved in the month-end closing and reporting within deadlines and ensure these activities comply with group regulations and reporting standards. You will be part of the team that prepares the consolidated financial statements of the Group entities and monthly internal (management) reports for Stahl's Leadership Team and Board, as well as the semi-annual reports to shareholder(s).

Your role will require collaborations with local controllers and with the Group Director Controlling. With your financial controlling and reporting experience, you’ll play an important role in getting the month-end closing and reporting done. You’ll report to the Consolidation & Reporting Manager. As an Assistant Financial Controller the responsibilities include:

  • Initiating (and closing) the reporting workflows in SAP-BPC.
  • Providing instructions to local controllers for month-end closing, quarterly closing, year-end closing, and annual budget, including guidelines for financial reporting and audit.
  • On request, provide guidance to users of SAP-BPC.
  • Preparing and updating monthly reconciliation files that support the month-end closing.
  • Preparing reports for banks and shareholders. You will participate in the preparations of the half- and yearly reporting in Hyperion Financial Management (HFM).
  • Interacting with the external auditor, providing requested documentation for their audit.
  • Preparing the annual budget together with Consolidation & Reporting Manager and Group Director Controlling.
  • Providing support in M&A projects and subsequent integrations as needed.

What are you bringing?

As an Assistant Financial Controller within Stahl, you possess a pragmatic and proactive mindset, as well as a hands-on mentality. You are a self-starter with attention to detail and accuracy, able to identify and prioritize key issues within the context of meeting reporting deadlines. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential in this role.

  • A HBO degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in accounting/financial controlling in an international company or working for a Big Four auditing firm. Financial control experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of IFRS.
  • Experience with SAP, SAP-BPC, HFM, or other consolidation software is required.
  • Proper knowledge of MS Office, PowerPoint, and advanced user of Microsoft Excel.
  • Fluency in English; speaking Dutch is a plus.
  • Living in or near North Brabant.

What do we offer?

  • Salary from €4,296 to €5,204 based on 40 hours per week excluding 8% holiday pay.
  • A 13th month (8.33%).
  • A permanent contract.
  • This concerns a full-time 40 hours position in Waalwijk.
  • Travel costs: €0.21 per km for a maximum of 50 km one way when traveling to the work address.
  • Good pension scheme (employer contribution = average 19%, employee contribution up to an annual salary of €50,048.00 (2024) premium-free, above that 7% employee premium.
