Joining us means becoming part of our digital strategy and developing yourself along the way.

A crucial part of our strategy is to consolidate data from various sources into a single, reliable, and consistent source for data analytics across the business.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Data Domain Product Owner to collaborate closely with data analytics teams, ensuring that domain-specific datasets meet their expectations and needs. This role offers the opportunity to engage with data analytics teams across Bupa, understand the value they derive from data, and develop the strategy, roadmap, and execution plan for creating valuable, reusable domain-specific datasets that facilitate the democratisation of our data to a broader audience.

How You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen:

  • Lead creation of domain-specific datasets, working with data analytics teams to ensure datasets are easy to understand and re-usable across teams.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Owning the product strategy, roadmap, and execution of one or more data domains (e.g., Customer, Product, Provider, Claims).
  • Chairing and coordinating one or more data domain working groups with relevant business stakeholders.
  • Leading the creation, governance, and management of domain-specific conceptual data models.
  • Identifying, clarifying, and documenting conceptual data model entities and their business data definitions.
  • Developing a value-led backlog for the team building the datasets and documenting new requirements using user stories, personas, and acceptance tests.
  • Establishing a process for testing new products or features with data analytics teams.
  • Implementing a robust change process to assess the potential impact of new features on existing business processes.
  • Managing and resolving master data management queries related to domain-specific datasets.
  • Supporting the development of effective Master Data requirements.
  • Assessing opportunities to improve data quality at source.
  • Communicating product strategy, roadmap, and deliverables to internal customers regularly.
  • Championing data best practices and increasing data literacy across Bupa.
  • Taking a proactive approach to continuous professional development.

Key Skills / Qualifications Needed:

Essential:

  • Experience with managing the development and delivery of a data product for an internal customer.
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of the data lifecycle.
  • Experience in establishing and monitoring KPIs to measure value delivered.
  • Excellent team player with strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proactive, self-learner, organised, and able to prioritise work in an agile, fast-moving environment.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop clear insights for the business.

Highly Desirable:

  • Knowledge of data architecture and modelling.
  • Exposure to master data management.
  • Experience with project management methods (e.g., agile, waterfall, Scrum).
  • Commercial experience in a related sector (e.g., insurance, healthcare) or function (e.g., marketing).
