Patagonia is an outdoor apparel company founded in 1973. At a time when all life on earth is under threat of extinction, we aim to use the resources we have—our business, our investments, our voice, and our imagination—to influence changes needed to protect our planet. A registered B Corporation and founding member of 1% for the Planet, Patagonia is recognised internationally for its commitment to product quality and environmental activism, contributing over $145 million in grants and in-kind donations to thousands of grassroots environmental groups around the world.

Your Role

We are in business to save our home planet. You’ll be helping us achieve this by supporting the Credit Manager in managing the accounts receivable to reduce aged debt and increase cash flow. Tasks include preparing account and customer information in anticipation of weekly reviews with the Credit Manager and working closely with Dealer Service and Sales departments to manage any potential disputes that may delay payments and deliveries. Iberia and Nordics are your primary market; however, you are expected to support other markets if required.

Main Tasks

  • Take ownership and manage the portfolio for your key markets, Iberia and the Nordics, overseeing all processes and communication related to these markets. You are expected to support other markets throughout Europe as well.
  • Contact customers by phone and email. It is important for this position to build and maintain strong relationships with our clients and the sales organization to monitor payment plans, due-date modifications, etc.
  • Management of daily blocked orders.
  • Daily input and application of multicurrency bank receipts.
  • Take ownership and manage the reminder and recovery process for wholesale accounts receivable throughout Europe. Liaise with our collection agency.
  • Analyse and check creditworthiness for new wholesale accounts and on an ongoing basis for existing accounts in liaison with the wholesale sales organization through financial analysis, credit checks, and payment history review.
  • Prepare the Direct Debit files to be reviewed by your manager and send them to the bank.
  • Sending out the invoices and credit notes on a daily basis.

What We’re Looking For

  • An inclusive mindset
  • Minimum of 2-5 Years’ Experience in Credit control or in a similar finance/accounting role
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or equivalent in years of experience
  • Fluent in English and Spanish, other languages are a plus
  • High level of adaptability given the cultural differences across Europe
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, open mind and good communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • A love of the outdoors
  • A passion for saving our home planet and making a positive impact through your work

It’s a Plus If You Also Have the Following

  • Knowledge in Microsoft Dynamics 365

Other Important Details

  • This is a Full-time position based in Amsterdam.
  • This is a fixed-term full-time vacancy, intended to support the team for 6 months.
  • We have a hybrid work model, working from home for a maximum of 3 days per week.
  • We strive to make unbiased decisions and to offer a great experience to every person who applies for a role at Patagonia. Our interviews include standardized questions that focus on the aspects that are important for success in the role.
