The Vacancy

At Fokker Landing Gear, we are looking for a Site Planning Manager to lead a team of Shop floor Schedulers and manage the planning and execution of our manufacturing and MRO operations located in Papendrecht. Your responsibilities include:

  • The execution of the monthly Operations Supply Planning (IBP) activities,
  • The weekly MPS activities, and
  • The daily execution through Shop Floor Scheduling.

It is crucial that you facilitate the decision-making process to balance demand and supply with a consensus plan integrated into site financial and operational plans. Finally, as a Site Planning Manager, you are responsible for the deployment of all Planning and Scheduling related standards, tools & metrics.

We are Fokker Landing Gear

Landing Gear, part of GKN Fokker Aerospace, is a recognized specialist in landing gear and related systems. We focus on the design and development, production and assembly of complete landing gears and the repair and reassembly of systems already in use. In doing so, we work on the most famous aircraft and helicopters; think of the Apache combat helicopter, the F-35 Lightning II (JSF), the Bombardier Dash 8 Q400, and the multipurpose NH90 maritime combat helicopter.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the Planning team of 7 FTEs (leadership, target setting, performance review, talent management, organizational planning, recruiting/on-boarding, training, and development).
  • Ensure first level interface between Integrated Programme Teams (IPT), Customer and site Planning Organisation.
  • Collect and compile all inputs supporting the Operations Capability Review. This includes understanding demonstrated performance, management of assumptions, integration of time-phased continuous improvement plan, preventative maintenance plan, master data metrics, and forward-looking capacity matrix.
  • Ensure that MPS is feasible and meets Programme requirements within site and supplier/subcontractor capacity while satisfying site Inventory targets,
  • Ensure the MPS is balanced regarding internal and external resources capacity and optimized to achieve lowest overall operational costs,
  • Consolidate the MPS of each production area and run weekly MPS meeting.
  • Ensure Shop Floor Scheduling is aligned to latest customer demand, consistent with MPS, and using the most adequate techniques to support on-time delivery at the optimal inventory and cost level.
  • Ensure relevant KPIs are defined, monitored, and improved sustainably (e.g.: Master Schedule Adherence, Customer Past Dues, Days Inventory Outstanding).

What You'll Bring

  • Experience in Manufacturing planning, preferably within the aerospace manufacturing industry, OR a highly technical low volume operation,
  • Educational background relevant to the job OR equivalent experience,
  • Leadership experience,
  • Experience in defining and driving KPIs to improve the operation,
  • Ability to use effective communication to build a high-performing team and influence across functional lines,
  • Experience in leading, coaching, and developing direct reports,
  • Excellent communication skills, fluency in English, and preferably in Dutch,
  • Understanding of the Lean Operating Model / Production System,
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification by a reputable certifying body or benchmark company would be an asset.
