Credit Risk Data Governance Specialist

Join us in this exciting role as a Credit Risk Data Governance Specialist. The Credit Risk Data Governance AVP will be responsible for the day-to-day management of BAU and project-specific data governance activities. They will act as a ‘one stop shop’ for Risk Management, triage issues, drive forward remediation, and ensure robust governance. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of the Data Governance workstream and ensure that the required deliverables are designed and executed to the highest level, ensuring strong data quality control design, end-to-end lineage flows, and comprehensive metadata identification and classification is managed.

Purpose of the Role

To safeguard the financial health of the bank by identifying, analysing, and mitigating potential credit risks associated with lending activities.

Accountabilities

  • Analysis of financial data, including income, assets, liabilities, credit history, and economic trends, to determine the risk of default.
  • Monitoring of existing loan portfolios to identify potential credit deterioration or early warning signs of default.
  • Recommendation of loan approvals, rejections, or adjustments based on risk evaluation and bank lending policies.
  • Development and implementation of credit risk mitigation strategies, including collateral management, loan restructuring, and workout plans.

  • Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business-aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources, such as procedures and practices (in other areas, teams, companies, etc.), to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate complex information. 'Complex' information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.
  • Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
