Wholesale Credit Risk Portfolio Analyst

Step into the role of a Wholesale Credit Risk Portfolio Analyst, where you’ll work closely with senior risk management as part of the Analytics team aiming to deliver on key technology infrastructure projects, develop and enhance credit risk monitoring and analytical capabilities, as well as help inform strategic business decision making for the Investment Bank. The role requires the ability to critically process information pertaining to evolving credit risks in the market and the bank’s portfolio, be able to clearly articulate risk concerns and drive broad engagement in the team’s core priorities.

Key Skills Required

  • Previous experience working in Credit Risk, Market Risk, Investment Banking or Markets preferable
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills as well as work with a diverse range of colleagues across the globe
  • Having a control based mindset and an eye for detail
  • Ability to code in SQL and/or Python to an intermediate standard
  • Self-motivated, capable of working independently, and to a high standard.

Purpose of the Role

To manage and optimise the bank's overall credit risk exposure by monitoring, analysing, and reporting on the creditworthiness of its lending portfolio.

Accountabilities

  • Monitoring the financial performance and risk profile of the entire lending portfolio, including individual borrowers, sectors, and geographic regions.
  • Analysis of credit trends, identify early warning signs of potential borrowers' issues, and assess the impact of economic and market developments on the portfolio.
  • Development and utilisation of quantitative models and risk forecasting tools to measure and predict potential credit losses.
  • Performance of portfolio stress testing exercises to assess the impact of various economic and market scenarios on the portfolio's risk profile.
  • Definition and setting of portfolio, segment and customer risk appetite, policy and limits. Overseeing first line execution within these parameters.
