Are you interested in shaping future financial institutions through innovation and technology? And are you motivated to contribute to helping Accenture in creating value and delivering new solutions for its clients? And finally, do you want to learn from the experts and work within a young, dynamic, diverse and vibrant company?

Then look no further, we are looking for you! This graduate/thesis internship within our Strategy & Consulting - Risk & Compliance practice will give you the opportunity to explore the most interesting trends within the industry while developing your professional skills and in-depth knowledge of the Financial Services sector.

Team

Our people in Strategy & Consulting are changing businesses every day using deep industry insights, knowledge, and innovative ideas. Positioned at the crucial intersection of business and technology, we devise creative new strategies based on trends, insights, and data. With an eye for competitive advantage, digital disruption, operating models, risk & compliance, and the future workforce, we take on the challenge of designing and implementing transformative business solutions, using the newest technology.

Daily tasks

As an intern, you will be able to work close to quantitative and regulatory risk experts across technical topics such as credit and market risk but also transversal topics like technology applications and ESG initiatives. You will also have the opportunity to do research on topics that are driving the risk and banking agenda.

Research

Within this internship, we have defined three broad research themes on which you can focus:

  • Credit Risk
  • ESG
  • Market Risk

We support research topics that can be, amongst others, in line with one of the following topics:

  • Credit Risk: Credit risk is at the core of the Banking agenda. As financial technology innovation increases in pace, new ways of estimating risk models are shaping a new financial services industry. Additionally, banks need to keep up with regulatory demands. Finally, post Covid-19 and inflation scenarios combined with recent geopolitical events are yet to be explored. This topic will allow you to explore how technology is shaping the risk domain, what are the main drivers of credit risk and how AI can be leveraged across the risk domain.
  • ESG: ESG is here. The banking industry is turning its attention to ESG and integrating it across their risk environment. Additionally, banks need to pace to meet regulatory demands. This topic will allow you to explore a key trend across the banking and risk domain. You will investigate how banks can integrate and address ESG across the risk function, find new ESG risk drivers and study ESG’s impact on the Banking Risk agenda.
  • Market Risk: The recent years have been shaped by extensive central banks monetary support, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the war in Ukraine. This led to a surge in inflation across the globe and a consequent increase in interest rates by central banks. These events pressured financial markets, households, businesses, and banks. Hence, new ways to navigate these uncertain times are crucial for banks to stay competitive. This topic will allow you to explore how recent phenomena shaped banks' profitability and investigate new patterns and relationships in financial markets data.

Within all our internships, we offer you the opportunity to develop, learn, orient, build relationships, and gain insights into what it’s like to work as a consultant. As an employer, we will be as flexible as possible to support your work as well as your academical needs and happy to help you navigate the beginning of your career. Therefore, within our recruiting process, we are highly interested in your motivations and academical interest.
