The energy transition is in full swing and Eneco is leading the way. Our goal? To be fully climate-neutral by 2035. This applies to our own business activities, but also to the energy we supply to our customers. For example, we develop wind and solar parks ourselves, and we help customers take sustainable steps every day with smart products and good advice. Now that we are part of Mitsubishi Corporation (MC), our impact has increased and we are accelerating the transition. We can really use your expertise for this.

Treasury aims to achieve an adequate and optimal (project) financing structure for Eneco to fund its business at the lowest cost, acceptable risk and optimal return for the business.

The treasury department is responsible for arranging adequate financing of Eneco’s business activities and investments & projects. But also in managing risks in terms of interest rate, currency, liquidity, maturity risks and managing Eneco’s credit rating.

The main areas of work of the treasury department are corporate finance (including credit rating), project finance & structuring, and cash management.

You will become part of the Treasury corporate & project finance team, where your focus will be on the corporate finance side of Treasury. As part of the team, you will also be involved in other areas such as project finance & structuring and intercompany funding in order to strengthen the team in its entirety.

Corporate finance within Eneco entails managing a broad range of facilities with over 15 different financial institutions, updating and steering the financial strategy, managing the credit rating and presentations to the rating agency, providing input to the business on impact of new investments on Eneco’s rating, negotiating & closing (or renewing) of facilities, and report to the Management & Supervisory Board on strategy/ liquidity/other relevant treasury items.

In this role you are responsible for the financing in the broadest sense and you will have intensive contact with internal stakeholders (including Management Board & Senior Management, business, energy trading, risk management, and professional disciplines) as well as external stakeholders (including project teams, banks, debt providers, Mitsubishi colleagues, regulators, advisors).

  • Updating the Management & Supervisory Board on working capital funding requirements and base case funding strategy.
  • Update and improve different policies related to Treasury (Treasury statute, project finance/guarantee/inflation/etc. policy)
  • Working together with Financial Risk Management to ensuring margining requirements from Eneco’s trading business are met and managed.
  • Incidentally working within project teams to arrange project finance for large offshore assets as a backup and for smaller onshore assets as primary contact. This entails everything from structuring of project, writing an information memorandum, bank sounding, to closing of the financing.

  • Compliance with Treasury policies & loan documentation.
