Senior VAT Operations Analyst

Ensure timely, complete and correct filing of VAT returns, ESL, Intrastat, SAF-T and similar filings with tax authorities in the EMEA region. As part of the Corporate Finance community, you will report into the Tax Operations Lead and have a close connection to Group Taxation’s Indirect Tax Managers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and secure timely filing of Indirect Tax-related reporting to tax authorities via OneSource (Domestic VAT returns, Sales and Purchase listings, Intrastat reporting, SAF-T filings, and other e-reporting requirements);
  • Manage tax audits and secure management reporting thereof;
  • Continuous engagement with Indirect Tax team on findings, challenges, and changes;
  • Secure follow-up activities on non-compliant transactions and/or processes;
  • Drive process improvements and automation (e.g., through VAT compliance reporting solutions/Celonis);
  • Communicate with and manage external tax consultants;
  • Support projects from an Indirect Tax compliance perspective (e.g., new businesses set-up, changes in legislation, automation, Tax/VAT master data elements, etc.);
  • Develop, implement, and execute new solid preventive and detective controls as part of Company’s Tax Control Framework.

You Bring

  • HBO or University degree in Finance (accounting) and/or Taxation and have some years of relevant experience with Indirect tax compliance in EMEA;
  • You have a strong VAT accounting background and have worked in an international, preferably in-house environment;
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships;
  • You are both a team player and a self-starter who is able to work effectively and autonomously;
  • Being thorough, detail-oriented, and diligent in analyzing tax data (advanced in Excel, Power BI, or similar tools);
  • Possess an innovative mindset and able to understand complex technical VAT advice and connect the dots to compliance processes and (ERP)-systems and tools;
  • Have the ability to drive process improvements and automation;
  • Excellent command of the English language. Another European language is considered a plus, especially Polish, French, or German.
