Field Sales Representative

Position Summary

The sales representative will be assigned certain account(s) in designated areas and will be responsible to achieve the targets every month.

A Day in the Life

  • Accountable for the achievement of their territory sales volumes by each category.
  • Achieve the set coverage, core distribution, and visibility targets in the assigned territories.
  • Develop a strong relationship with the customer and negotiate contracts on visibility, shelf space, promotions, and implementations.
  • Organize field visits daily and follow up with stores in the assigned area to ensure product availability.
  • Ensure listing of new Stock Keeping Units (SKU) and ensure the achievement of placement objectives.
  • Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, and information gathered through field activity to the appropriate manager.
  • Ensure that the promotional program is implemented effectively and efficiently in-store.
  • Ensure zero out-of-stock products by communicating with merchandisers and following up with store visits.
  • Identify and resolve problems with stock shelf and damaged goods.
  • Ensure shelf and warehouse stocks are correctly audited, rotated, and short expiry issues are properly handled in line with company policy.
  • Manage account(s) through quality checks and follow-ups.
  • Ensure collection is made in line with Nestlé set payment terms.
  • Submit and maintain proper customer records, sales activities and other required reports and forms.
  • Develop proper relations and rapport with customers and account personnel.
  • Work in accordance with the predetermined call plan.
  • Work with merchandisers and ensure that shelves are properly maintained and implemented.
  • Provide constructive feedback to merchandisers regarding their implementation of products on the shelves, checkouts, and gondolas.
  • Follow up with merchandisers daily about their progress in journey plans and resolve any arising issues.
  • Ensure strict adherence and compliance on all activities undertaken, including those on trade, to the WHO International Code of Marketing of Breast-Milk substitutes and Nestlé Instructions and local country codes. Comply with Nestlé’s strictest requirements regarding marketing and sales personnel not contacting or giving advice to pregnant women or mothers of infants and young children regarding Infant Formula in their business capacity.
