The Position

Your impact as an intern at the Tender Office at Van Oord involves supporting the department in preparing competitive bids for new projects. You ensure that the tender aligns with the client's requirements. Additionally, you ensure that the management is always informed about the developments in your tender and help improve the tender process.

Your Responsibilities

Your responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the preparation of tender documents;
  • Working to continuously improve our way of working;
  • Contributing to planning and risk sessions.

There are two internship positions: one at the Dredging & Infra business unit in Rotterdam. You may occasionally be asked to travel to project locations or other Van Oord offices.

Your Work Environment

The Tender Office is part of the Engineering and Estimating department and is responsible for preparing and submitting competitive bids for new projects. The team closely collaborates with other departments to develop cost estimates, project plans, and technical proposals that meet the client's requirements and ensure the success of the project. As an intern, you have the opportunity to gain valuable experience and contribute to securing a successful project for Van Oord.

The business units Offshore Energy and Dredging & Infra are responsible for delivering a wide range of projects, including oil and gas infrastructure, renewable energy, dredging, coastal defense, and maritime construction. Tender teams vary in size and specializations. The atmosphere is open and transparent: we engage in easy conversations, and there is a strong willingness to help each other. There is natural support for new colleagues.

Job Requirements

You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and can work well independently. Furthermore, you are:

Currently in the third or fourth year of a bachelor's or master's program in a technical or business field, such as Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field;

  • Good at English language;
  • Affinity and interest in engineering;
    Available for a minimum of 4 months.
