We specialize in the design, construction, and maintenance of workboats, offering a wide range of vessels for various maritime applications. The Role

A Junior HR Advisor plays a foundational role within the Human Resources department of Workboats, supporting various HR functions and providing assistance to both employees, the HR business partner, and the HR Manager. We are a small team of 3 in total including this role to support around 400 people in Gorinchem and having contact with our counterparts at the yards—a very diverse role in a fast-changing organization.

Key Accountabilities

• Assist in campus recruitment and the recruitment process.
• Support onboarding processes for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
• Provide day-to-day HR support to employees, addressing inquiries and escalating issues when necessary.

Efficient and effective processing of personnel changes in the HR information system Workday for a part of the organization.

• Advise management regarding absence issues and maintain the absence administration.
• Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
• Participate in employee engagement initiatives and contribute ideas to foster a positive work culture.
• Support the HR team with various projects and operational tasks as needed.

Skills & Experience

As Junior HR Advisor, you have the following skills:

• You have completed a higher professional education (HBO) in HRM.
• You have 0-3 years of relevant work experience.
• You are eager to learn and are curious.
• You are proactive, take responsibility for your work, and are a team player.
• You like to think outside the box and come up with the best solution.
• You can easily communicate with different stakeholders and ask questions to understand what is expected from you and others.
• A good understanding of the English language, both written and spoken.
• Accurate, effective communication skills, both internal and external.
