Are you a young, talented IT professional with a passion for retail, e-commerce, or IT? Hunkemöller is seeking an eager and ambitious Application Manager to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a set of critical applications within our landscape, such as our Order Management System (OIL), Product Information Management (InRiver), Customer Service Platform (SFSC), Product Lifecycle Management (BambooRose), Marketplace Order Management (Tradebyte), HR tool (Workday), Workforce Management Tool (Manus), and two home-built applications. You are not alone as you will join a team of application managers who share the responsibility for these tools and support each other.

Your primary focus will be on functional application management, ensuring our systems run smoothly and efficiently by supporting our end-users and keeping the system healthy. You will work closely with our application vendors, who will handle the technical aspects, while you focus on improving and maintaining the functional performance of our applications. Our goal is to empower our business departments to grow our business, making this a very diverse and impactful role. You can describe yourself as a bridge builder between our business departments and our technical software vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Application Strategy and Planning: Define the application roadmap aligned with business objectives, work with stakeholders to identify application needs and priorities, and plan and manage the implementation of new applications or updates.
  • Projects: Engaging in a advisory role in project teams to launch new business needs into our application landscape. Your knowledge of the system limitations and capabilities will define the design of our projects. You will be involved in the entire end-to-end process of projects, taking up various tasks connected to the project phase
  • Change Management: Oversee the development and deployment of applications, manage change timelines, budgets, and resources, and coordinate with IT and other departments to ensure seamless integration.
  • Application Maintenance and Support: Ensure the smooth operation of applications, monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement updates and patches as necessary.
  • Stakeholder Management: Liaise with business users to gather requirements and feedback, provide training and support to end-users, and communicate effectively with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure applications comply with relevant regulations and standards, implement security measures to protect data integrity and privacy, and conduct regular audits and risk assessments. Supported by our CISO
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Develop metrics and KPIs to assess application performance, generate reports for management on application usage and performance, and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of software development, application management, and IT infrastructure, with familiarity with application lifecycle management (ALM) tools.
  • Project Management Skills: Experience in managing complex projects, proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira), and ability to manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex problems, devise effective solutions, and perform performance monitoring and reporting.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work with diverse teams and manage stakeholder relationships, and strong negotiation skills for vendor management.
  • Business Acumen: Understanding of business processes and how applications support them, with the ability to align application strategy with business goals and gather and interpret business requirements.
  • Location: Living in the Netherlands, preferably within commuting distance of Hilversum or Almere.
  • Language Skills: Excellent communication skills in English; Dutch language skills are a plus.
  • Work experience: 4-6 years of experience in IT or application management
