Technical Business Analyst

As a Barclays Technical Business Analyst, you will collaborate with business partners across Product, Operations and Technology to understand problems and desired outcomes, translating those into requirements that will enable delivery. You will work closely internally, and with the other Technology teams, on the programme to assure delivery of their changes as they move through the development lifecycle. This will be the ideal opportunity for someone with excellent Business Analysis skills and experience.

What will you be doing?

Facing off to one or more business areas/SME's and understanding high level requirements

Being responsible for interpreting high level business requirement into low level functional specification and technical requirements

Ensuring all functional and technical requirements are clarified for the technical team to ensure there is no ambiguity leading to error prone technical build

Owning the delivery of the work assigned and driving it to successful completion, while working proactively with stakeholders

Supporting requirements through the development lifecycle, including Design, Development, and Testing, and supporting PM’s in managing delivery to assure achievement of outcomes

Driving continuous improvement in terms of process, tooling, knowledge sharing and support for the wider programme

Providing support to the Lead Business Analyst /Product Owner, helping to articulate and present effective controls and service improvements

Eliciting, validating and documenting business requirements, and creating user/feature stories and backlogs

What we’re looking for:

Experience of working as a business analyst in a data domain, within a large-scale delivery environment

The ability to navigate and master new subject domains quickly

Clear and confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills

The ability to manage competing priorities, delivering to challenging timescales and deadlines

Skills that will help you in the role:

Hands on experience with data analysis, ETL, data warehouse, SQL querying, data modelling, and data visualisation & reporting tools such as Tableau, Business Objects etc

Awareness of standard project control tools, including JIRA, Confluence, etc

Good understanding of project delivery methodologies including the software development lifecycle and the role of the business analysts in these contexts

Broad knowledge of financial industry products and offerings, experience with Payments products would be advantageous

You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations.
