Business Analyst Intern

Amsterdam

High-growth scaleup looking for a strategic Data Analyst Intern to help build the future of B2B Commerce as of mid July (negotiable).

What we are looking for:

You can not wait to apply your knowledge in the real world! You are an independent thinker and not afraid to challenge the status quo. You like to work in teams but are able to own projects. You are confident with Excel (or Google Sheets), and willing to learn/extend your SQL skills. You will closely work with our finance and sales team and deep-dive in our numbers. This internship will provide you with an extensive basis in lead generation, strategy and data-driven decision making. Do you love consulting and are you good with numbers? Let’s go!

Our entire team works hard to optimize our quality focused B2B marketplace and in parallel, setting up a new business unit. There are tons of indicators influencing the buying behavior of our suppliers and retailers. Understanding each and everyone of these helps us predict new trends, find new opportunities and take action.

While we've been gathering loads of data about our suppliers and retailers, we need to analyze this properly in order to make the right business decisions. Why are some retailers retaining better than others and how can we improve retention? How successful was our latest event or marketing campaign and which retailer groups performed better than others and why?

There are a lot of questions to ask and there is loads of research to be done. Therefore asking the right questions and taking that extra step while diving into our data is key in this role. Your research and consulting will set the basis on how we act on various business questions affecting our strategy directly. In addition, you'll make sure our sales team have sufficient leads to get in contact with. You'll use existing methods to do so but you'll also help exploring new and even better methods for a continuous inflow of leads.

Requirements:

  • Academic (WO) thinking level;
  • You have sound business judgment (e.g., background in business, engineering, economics, marketing etc.);
  • Interest in strategic consulting and/or business analytics;
  • Proven ability to define and prioritize projects based on business value;
  • Experienced with Excel;
  • Knowledge of SQL - or eager to learn;
  • Asset: knowledge of Hubspot
  • Fluent in English.

This is you:

  • Fast learner. You have a natural curiosity and intellectual mind to deeply understand new topics in the e-commerce/retail industry;
  • Skillset. You'll pick up new skills in a very short time;
  • Independent. You can work autonomously and dare to ask questions when they arise;
  • Analytical. You know how to find the patterns and love to deep-dive into any kind of info;
  • Extremely resourceful. Getting stuff done is your mantra. You find a way to make it happen, even when the work is hard. You have a natural drive to power through it.

You will:

  • Monitor key parameters of the performance of our retailers, suppliers, events and marketing campaigns, our cost and our new dropshipping business;
  • Help improving our strategy by analyzing findings, framing challenges, providing options for consideration and recommendations for resolution through analysis;
  • Co-build and maintain dashboards and provide valuable insights for our sales and marketing team;
  • You will source leads for acquisition purposes and analyse the success of the lead sources so we can continuously optimize this process

We offer:

  • Internship remuneration;
  • Excellent work equipment (MacBook Pro, large screen, etc.);
  • A spacious office in the heart of Amsterdam (Leidseplein), incl. N64/Switch/PS1;
  • Room for ownership and initiative within a fast-growing start-up organization;
  • A real ambitious, fun and inspiring work surrounding where you’ll get to learn a lot;
  • We encourage you to celebrate your birthday as much as possible! Take the day after to get some rest, but we do want a cake as well :)
