As a Business Application Specialist in our IT Department, you will serve as the linking pin between our business (in this case the Finance department) and corresponding IT solutions. Your role is critical in understanding and translating business requirements into functional specifications, ensuring that IT solutions align perfectly with our financial strategies and objectives. This position requires a unique blend of technical savvy, financial acumen, and the ability to foster strong relationships across departments.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Engaging directly with our business stakeholders to gather and define requirements, ensuring a deep understanding of financial processes that need support or enhancement through IT solutions.
• Designing and implementing IT solutions that are closely aligned with business goals, focusing on optimizing financial processes and systems.
• Serving as a mediator between the business and IT, translating business needs and ensuring clear communication and understanding on both sides.
• Analyzing financial data to aid in decision-making, identifying trends, and recommending improvements on our one way of working.
• Facilitating the continuous learning and adaptation of new technologies and methodologies to stay ahead of industry trends.
• Ensuring that projects and changes are executed efficiently, within budget and time constraints, and achieve desired outcomes.
• Have a clear understanding of our finance processes and make sure dependencies are managed when changes are being made.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• A bachelor's or master's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field;
• A strong track record in a similar role, particularly in roles that bridge the gap between IT and finance;
• A sound understanding of finance and accounting processes and systems, including IFRS;
• Experience with SAP FI/CO is strongly preferred, but experience in other accounting solutions (Oracle, Exact, Dynamics/AX, etc.) is also accepted.
