New connections, new systems, new opportunities

This role of Finance administrator sits within our Procurement to Pay team (P2P), which is part of Finance Operations. Your core task is to work with a collaborative team to ensure that all P2P work is performed accurately and on time, including month-end closing. In doing so you interact with other areas of Finance Operations such as Procurement and Operations, always looking to form mutually beneficial connections.

Above and beyond this, a key focus is to work with the Finance Operations Manager on the continuous improvement of our financial processes and systems. This is a stimulating, future-focused challenge in which you imagine and strategize alongside IT colleagues on the implementation of new systems, internally developed robots, and tools to professionalize the P2P process.

Your day to day tasks include:

  • Booking purchase invoices, checking that they meet the agreements with the supplier and the requirements we set for the purchase invoices;
  • Processing bank statements from various Samskip companies;
  • Initiating and checking payment proposals to suppliers (batch payments);
  • As Key User of WMD xFlow, ensuring that the benefits of this system are maximized;
  • Reconciling intercompany accounts.

At all times you maintain contacts with our suppliers, answering their questions regarding payments. You also work with other departments to resolve any invoice disputes.

A view to the future

The logistics industry is one of the forces driving our open, hyper-connected world. Samskip is pioneering the sustainable and multimodal solutions that make this possible. This is your opportunity to play your role in shaping this future. It is based at our headquarters in Rotterdam and offers not only a fantastic view of the Port of Rotterdam, but also multiple directions for your next career step. You will have the scope to further develop yourself within our P2P team, or to move into areas such as Business Control, Financial Control or Treasury. We will give you support and training all the way, including the courses available on the online Samskip Academy.

Furthermore, you can count on:

  • A salary appropriate to your experience and background, including a thirteenth month;
  • 28 days of annual leave;
  • An excellent pension plan;
  • Travel allowance;
  • Company fitness.

Blending financial skills with people skills

As a Finance administrator you need to be accurate, highly organized and able to maintain a good financial overview. But this particular role will bring you into multi-facing contact with other departments, as well as with our suppliers. As such, it calls for a great communicator who is keen to thrive within a dynamic and multi-cultural environment where every day is different.

Specific job requirements include:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics or similar;
  • Accounting knowledge with specific relation to bank booking and invoice processing is a plus;
  • Ideally you are familiar with business processes and best practices in Supply Chain and Procurement to Pay;
  • Able to work effectively with Excel or other business intelligence packages, with SAP experience an advantage;
  • Excellent written and spoken English language skills.
