Our people are the key to our success. As a corporate recruiter, you play a crucial role in this and contribute to the further professionalization and development of our organization. You will have the freedom and responsibility to manage your work as you see fit, provided you handle this autonomy with care and that you demonstrate strong and stable performance. The independence is supported by your Team Lead, to ensure alignment with your personal and our Van Oord goals. Van Oord recruits specific and often scarce technical talent in an international environment. Your added value lies in understanding who our target groups are, what motivates them and developing a solid, tailor-made recruitment and selection plan.

YOUR IMPACT

The responsibilities as a corporate recruiter are versatile, so no two days are the same. Together with hiring managers from your discipline or department, you create recruitment profiles, conduct selection interviews and advise the organisation on the entire recruitment and job offer process. In addition to internal communication and coordination with regard to vacancies, you also ensure that vacancies are spread among specific target group(s), through effective sourcing and recruitment marketing. You thrive on interacting with internal stakeholders, guiding the entire recruitment process and contributing to binding talent to Van Oord. You are supported in this by a very strong employer brand and more than 5,500 ambassadors.

  • Acting as tactical and operational recruitment advisor for hiring managers within various disciplines and departments; e.g. various staff departments such as Finance, Procurement, QHSE, and also our Project Office Pool and hiring Crew to man our vessels;
  • Managing the entire recruitment process, from drafting vacancy texts, assessing applications and conducting interviews to making an offer in the final phase, in collaboration with the hiring manager;
  • Building strong internal relationships with managers and advise them in achieving their goals;
  • Continuously optimizing the recruitment proposition, processes and results in collaboration with your direct colleagues;
  • Identifying areas for development, translating them into projects and taking the lead in these;
  • Proactive sourcing, effective recruitment marketing and employer branding campaigns.

Your workplace

The last years our recruitment team has developed into a fully operational talent acquisition team in which passion, energy and ingenuity are key factors for success. The Talent Acquisition department currently has appr 30 colleagues (permanent, interim, and internship), divided into 2 teams: Recruitment (permanent roles) and FlexOord (contingent workers). Together we are responsible for the end to end recruitment process of approximately 800 vacancies and 1500 flex-employees on an annual basis.

ABOUT YOU

You have good interpersonal and communication skills and you are able to act on different levels. A great sense of responsibility, perseverance and a critical eye for opportunities for improvement;. You also bring:

  • A relevant bachelor degree or similar working experience;
  • Experience in a technical and matrixed work environment;
  • Experience with the full scope of the recruitment profession in an international environment with scarce profiles;
  • Mastery of the English language both verbally and in writing. Proficiency in the Dutch language is a plus.

WE OFFER YOU

We offer you a position in which you will have an important contribution to our mission 'building a better world for future generations'. In addition, we offer you:

  • A salary that matches your responsibilities and experience;
  • Flexible in working hours; e.g. 24 up to 40 hours working week;
  • Travel allowance (€0.31 per km) and home office allowance (€2,15 per day);
  • 32 leave days per year;
  • Variable bonus;
  • Pension scheme;
  • Collective health insurance (optional);
  • Flexible working from home policy, 2 days a week when working on a full-time basis;
  • Extensive learning and (personal) development possibilities, including a wide range of online courses via Goodhabitz;
  • You can join communities, like Young Van Oord, Van Oord Women and the Van Oord staff association;
  • We organise several (sport) events, e.g. winter sport, weekend of sailing, cycling and a motorcycle tour.
