What do we offer?

Traineeship opportunities are published on our vacancies page in so-called Vacancy Notices.

Length: Traineeships are offered for an initial period of 6 months, with the possibility of extension for another 6 months (max. 12 months).

Key dates: As a general rule, traineeships are organised via 2 yearly intakes:

- In spring: from 1 April until 30 September. (approx. publication period: October to November)

- In autumn: from 1 October until 31 March. (approx. publication period: April to May)

In addition, for trainees joining SatCen from more than 100 km distance, a contribution to travel expenses upon joining and leaving the SatCen may be offered. Disabled trainees may receive a supplement to their monthly allowance equal to a maximum of 50% of the amount of the allowance, to help cover extra expenses (e.g. transport, cost of special accommodation) related to their disability.

Mentorship: Trainees are assigned a mentor who is responsible for establishing their individual learning goals, supervising their work and monitoring their progress on a regular basis, as well as providing them guidance on career and development. Trainees have the opportunities to learn about SatCen’s mission and activities, attend workshops, participate in meetings and have access to other competency development opportunities.
