THIS IS YOUR JOB

As our Accounting Assistant, your primary focus is reviewing and processing daily financial transactions, creating GL entries, and assisting in the month-end closing process. Bookkeeping and general accounting are your key strengths, and you like to work in a highly organized manner with attention to detail. You like being at the center of the finance team and the business, communicating with colleagues of various teams about their expense sheets, invoices, and customer cases. Daily routines that ensure accuracy and structure are common sense to you and you are passionate about efficiency and automation. You like to contribute to our warm and collaborative culture. Our finance team is a small team of highly motivated professionals and we support each other wherever needed. You fulfill a crucial role within our talented finance team and you report directly to the Head of Accounting.

  • Preparing financial reports and assisting with the preparation of reconciliations during the month-end closing process.
  • Processing and reviewing purchase invoices, expense sheets, and credit card statements, and support in preparing weekly payment lists.
  • Reviewing and creating sales invoices, communicating with our clients following up on trade receivables, and performing setups in the online systems of our corporate customers.
  • Review and reconcile bank statements and ensure that transactions are recorded accurately in the accounting system.
  • Preparing, posting, and reconciling income and expense accruals and prepayments, recording general ledger journal entries.
  • Maintaining GL/Vendor/Customer master files thoroughly and accurately.
  • Provide administrative and financial support to the team with other finance and accounting tasks such as assisting with audits, ad hoc financial analysis, and implementation of new systems.

THIS IS YOU

  • Relevant qualifications such as bachelor/master controlling, finance, bookkeeping, or accounting.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in accounting, financial controlling, or bookkeeping.
  • Bookkeeping and general accounting are what you do best and enjoy doing.
  • Playing a central role within the finance team, communicating with colleagues within the business
  • Passion for optimization accounting software, implementation of automation, and efficiency of processes.
  • Attention to detail, strong planner, and structured approach.
  • Fluent in English and not intimidated by occasional documents in Dutch.
  • A service mindset, you view the accounting team as a support function within the business.
