Bachelor internship: Emulation of System Parts

Our truck has a lot of ECUs, for two of them we make software ourselves. They are the powertrain controller (named PCI for diesel or PPC for battery electric trucks) and the vehicle controller (named VECU).
The goal of this assignment is to investigate what parts of this system we could emulate, and to try and make this emulator. This will allow us to test our software in different ways, which in the end will make our product better.This task includes:

• Research what parts of our system can be emulated;
• Research what emulation platforms are suitable for our needs;
• Create a simulated version of the identified system part;
• Create a connection between the emulator and simulated software.

Possible extensions:

Identify interesting test strategies that the new emulator gives us.
