THE ROLE

As Design Engineer Combat Systems at Damen Naval, you will be Develops combat system design solutions into a set of requirements during precontract activities. Performs (sub) design tasks within the technical team of a tender under the direction of the Tender Manager, Proposal Engineer Combat or Manager Combat. Writes reports and specifications and works closely with colleagues within and outside the tender.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

As Design Engineer Combat Systems your key responsibilities will include:

Perform design and reporting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.

Contribute to requirements analysis, concept generation, general system architecture, block diagrams, system design specifications, identification, and evaluation of design options.

Evaluate designs against requirements and prepare corresponding reports.

Write technical documents, equipment specifications, contract specifications, and reports, effectively communicating complex concepts and data.

Facilitate communication with stakeholders to gather input and ensure alignment on technical solutions.

Participate in discussions with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders on technical aspects of proposed solutions.

Support cost evaluations provided by suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Collaborate with internal departments to optimize project outcomes.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

To excel as Design Engineer Combat Systems, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in combat systems, preferably in complex new built naval ships.
  • Expertise in a variety of design concepts and practices, including technologically advanced design and proposal processes.
  • Good command of the Dutch and English language both written and verbal.
  • Excellent references antecedents as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.
  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required and candidates with NL/EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
