FGIV - Project Officer - Regional, urban and rural researcher

The current vacancy is in the Territorial Development Unit within the Fair and Sustainable Economy Directorate of the JRC.

The mission of the Unit is to support the territorial articulation of the EU policy agenda, its external investment and global outreach. Our aim is to deliver world-class science-for-policy support to bring Europe closer to citizens and places, turning territorial diversity into value.

The selected candidate will undertake research with a focus on cities and rural areas in Europe and in the world covering issues such as economic development, demographic change, housing, transport and the environment.

This role demands active collaboration with various teams within the Unit, diverse units across the JRC, and several of the European Commission’s policy Directorates-General (DGs), as well as external stakeholders.
