Are you an ambitious physicist with a passion for translating complex business requirements into state-of-the-art printing processes? Do you want to work in a challenging, multidisciplinary, multinational R&D environment? Then this role might be a great fit for you.

Physics researcher/designer R&D

What You’ll Do

As a Physics researcher/designer in Research and Development (R&D), you bridge the gap between theoretical physics and practical application, focusing on designing new products and refining processes especially related to the fixation processes in our printer engines. You will work in a multidisciplinary environment, collaborating with software, mechanics, and electronics experts, to solve complex technical challenges.

With your strong interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, entrepreneurial mindset and ambition you inspire and influence your stakeholders in your project (e.g. functions, designers, researchers).

The focus for this vacancy will be on fixation as one of the most important processes in our printer engines. Being part of the fixation team, you have a deep understanding of physics behind the fixation processes in the printer engine. With your modelling and experimental skills, you are able to come to concrete proposals on how to apply or redesign fixation for specific printer engines.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Steering development of the fixation modules that are needed to develop state of the art printer engines.
  • Understanding the fixation process to be able to balance this process in the context of the complete printer engine.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary teams delivering a working print process that enables new applications for graphics and industrial printing.

Who You’ll Work With

Our international organization has a flat hierarchy, so you’ll be working with lots of other people in an open, creative multidisciplinary environment. That includes for example designers, developers and architects.

What You Bring

  • A PhD or master’s degree in physics.
  • A strong technical background and eager to learn.
  • A combination of experimental and modelling skills in order to understand the physics of the fixation process by performing experiments on test setups as well as the ability to capture the knowledge in models.
  • Outstanding people management skills - ability to influence and motivate people; team builder with strong planning/project management skills, a proactive attitude and experienced in extensive stakeholder management.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills and a strong results driven mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in English both spoken and written.

What You’ll Get From Us

We provide an exciting, dynamic work environment with plenty of opportunities for you to develop personally and professionally. We offer excellent conditions to help you be who you want to be:

  • 38 vacation days.
  • Extra 13th month pay (8,6%), holiday allowance (8%) and commuting allowance.
  • Hybrid working for a healthy work-life balance.
  • A huge range of training and professional development opportunities.
  • A laptop and smartphone.
  • An interesting lease (e-)bike plan.
