At Filoform, the Operations Manager reports to the Operations Director – Joints & Seals and is responsible for leading daily operational activities to ensure safe, efficient and cost-effective production and supply of productions. The role oversees manufacturing, supply chain, warehousing, engineering, and continuous improvement.

What our new Operations Manager will be doing:

  • Oversee end-to-end daily manufacturing operations to ensure production plans, volumes, and schedules are achieved safely, efficiently, and in line with customer demand and business priorities.
  • Analyse production capacity, staffing levels, and workflow to maximise productivity, reduce downtime, and ensure optimal use of labour across shifts and departments.
  • Ensure all products meet internal quality standards and customer specifications, consistently achieving on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery performance.
  • Lead the deployment of Lean tools and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. 5S, Kaizen, waste reduction, standard work) to drive efficiency, cost reduction, and process stability.
  • Oversee raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory to maintain service levels while minimising excess stock and working capital exposure.
  • Identify and mitigate operational and supply chain risks, working cross-functionally to improve planning accuracy, supplier performance, and material flow.
  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable Dutch health & safety regulations, company policies, and legal requirements, always maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Champion a proactive safety-first culture, encouraging employee engagement, safe behaviours, and accountability while promoting environmental awareness and responsible practices.
  • Support corporate sustainability goals and ensure ongoing compliance with ISO standards (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001), audits, and certification requirements.
  • Oversee quality management systems, ensuring robust controls, documentation, and continuous improvement processes are embedded and consistently applied.
  • Lead structured root cause analysis for defects, incidents, and performance issues, ensuring effective corrective and preventive actions are implemented and sustained.
  • Take ownership of customer complaints related to production or quality, ensuring timely investigation, resolution, and communication to protect customer relationships.
  • Develop and manage operational budgets, monitor costs, and identify opportunities for efficiency savings without compromising safety, quality, or service.
  • Track, analyse, and report key operational KPIs, using data insights to drive performance improvements and informed decision-making.
  • Provide strong leadership to multi-disciplinary teams, supporting capability development, succession planning, performance management, and a culture of engagement and accountability.
  • Lead regular performance reviews to assess capability, set objectives, and support individual development, while implementing structured succession planning to ensure leadership continuity and build internal talent pipelines.
  • Foster a high-performance culture based on trust, collaboration, and accountability, encouraging cross-functional teamwork, clear ownership of outcomes, and strong employee engagement across all levels.
  • Contribute to the identification, evaluation, and delivery of CAPEX investments, including automation and technology upgrades, ensuring projects deliver operational efficiency, safety improvements, and return on investment.
  • Actively participate in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and wider business planning cycles, providing operational input to align demand forecasts, capacity, inventory, and resource planning with commercial objectives.
  • Translate strategic business goals into clear operational plans, ensuring production, logistics, and maintenance activities support sustainable growth, profitability, and long-term business strategy.

The experience our new Operations Manager will have includes:

  • Must have previous work experience as an Operations Manager or in a similar role within a mid to large sized manufacturing environment, which included machining and assembly function.
  • Degree in Business, Operations Management, or related field is essential, with a formal Engineering qualification advantageous.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a Senior Operations role.
  • Willingness to be flexible and to work across all sites, as required.
  • Proven project management skills and knowledge is required.
