Back End Engineer (Kotlin, DevOps, Kafka)

As our new Backend Engineer (Kotlin/Java, Kafka, DevOps), you’ll build and run applications that keep our IAM landscape efficient, compliant, and future-ready. Working at the intersection of engineering, sustainability, and business, you’ll have the chance engineer while ensuring innovation, reliability, and impact at scale.

This is how you will reinvent food retail

Build microservices in Kotlin for our NL IAM team

• Design and deliver technical solutions that align with our architecture and business processes.
• Hands-on development: create proofs of concept, write clean code, implement automated testing, ensure security and code quality, and set best practices.

Your new team

As a Backend Engineer, you will join the NL IAM team. The team is responsible for managing IAM applications and services for our NL colleagues. Our mission is to make IAM efficient, self-service, secure and scalable.

You will be supported by a team, allowing you to focus on building code. You will start with the development of mature systems with continuous change demand. We are taking future-changing steps to innovate our architecture and become more responsive toward market changes and opportunities.

Considering the vast scale we operate at, even the most minor improvements make an enormous impact, and you will be at the epicenter working on solutions that will take our IAM landscape to the next level. Our team works in a hybrid way, both from home and in the office.

The recipe for maximum impact

• 2-5 years of work experience as Backend Engineer
• Experience with Java / Kotlin, Spring framework / Spring Boot and Postgres
• Bonus if you are also familiar with Cloud (Azure) and Kafka
• Extra bonus if you are also familiar with IAM / Security
• An outstanding command of English
• Good communication skills and a willingness to learn from senior developers
• Residing in the Netherlands
