About Market Risk Management of ING NL

At ING Bank, the Market Risk Management team in the Netherlands is responsible for managing the balance sheet of ING NL. This includes hedging Interest Rate and Liquidity risks in close cooperation with Group Treasury, maintaining close relationships with business stakeholders, advising on product and pricing changes, and raising awareness of relevant macro-economic trends and consequences.

The team uses state-of-the-art risk and client behavior modelling methods and technologies to explore, analyse, and leverage data. It is currently working on the full migration to the target Asset & Liability Management risk system (QRM) as well as implementation of its strategic data roadmap.

The team

The department consists of an energetic team of around 30 highly qualified international professionals. The team works in an Agile way and believes that empowerment is crucial for success.

Roles and responsibilities

• Develop Excel, SQL or PowerBI-based risk reports based on the target risk system and data, enabling migration from the legacy system
• Prepare, analyze and enhance various risk reports used for both internal and regulatory measurements of Interest and Liquidity risks

How to succeed

• A Dutch university Master (MSc) student in Econometrics, Economics or other Finance/quantitative degrees
• You are a self-starter, result-driven and flexible with a hands-on attitude
• A keen interest in Financial Markets, financial instruments and Market Risk
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and critical thinking
• Good IT skills (Python, SQL, VBA)
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Available for at least 6 months
