This vacancy is for a FGIV - Project Officer - Biometrics Fingerprint Recognition Researcher with the Cybersecurity and Digital Technologies Unit of the Digital Transformation and Data Directorate, located in Ispra, Italy.

The Unit works on risk mitigation, cybersecurity, cybercrime, digital forensics, and innovative digital technology solutions for security, privacy and safety, and on the associated legal and regulatory frameworks, to strengthen the trust of the European citizen in a secure and fair digital European society.

The successful candidate will conduct research in the specialised field of digital forensic techniques, with a focus on biometric technologies and in particular fingerprint. This research plays an important role in advancing the way we identify, locate, and characterise criminal activities in our increasingly digital world. The researcher will join our 'Digital Forensic Investigation Techniques for Law Enforcement' Project, a key initiative that aims to enhance EU law enforcement capabilities. Additionally, the candidate will contribute to our wider efforts to bolster internal security and cybersecurity within Europe.
