Summary

As an Operational Buyer at Neways, you ensure that our high‑tech operations can run smoothly every day. You are responsible for the timely and accurate procurement of goods and services, enabling our production teams to deliver groundbreaking technology to our customers.

In this dynamic role, you work closely with suppliers, planners, production, engineering, sales, finance, and our category buyers. You monitor orders, coordinate deliveries, resolve supply issues, and contribute to optimizing our procurement processes. With your proactive attitude and strong attention to detail, you prevent disruptions and directly contribute to delivery reliability, quality, and cost control.

You will be part of our Procurement team and report to the Supply Chain Manager.

  • Higher vocational education (HBO) level, preferably in logistics, procurement, or business administration

  • Affinity with or experience working with technical products

  • Creative in finding solutions, with a practical and entrepreneurial mindset

  • Resilient under pressure and able to set clear priorities

  • Driven by intrinsic motivation to propose improvements

  • Experience working with ERP systems

  • Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English

  • Experience in a similar role — but we also warmly encourage graduates and starters to apply

Your daily responsibilities include

As an Operational Buyer at Neways Leeuwarden, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Reviewing and processing purchase suggestions into purchase orders in the ERP system, taking into account price, delivery time, and packaging unit;

  • Checking and processing order confirmations from suppliers in the ERP system;

  • Monitoring deliveries and, if necessary, proposing alternative products/suppliers;

  • Assessing/executing rescheduling orders and adjusting priorities in consultation with planning;

  • Communicating and following up on forecasts with suppliers;

  • Proposing adjustments to order parameters;

  • Handling and preventing invoice discrepancies and quality issues;

  • Timely internal coordination with stakeholders in the production process, such as the planning and warehouse departments;

  • Actively contributing to the further professionalization of the department and independently participating in improvement projects.
