Internship assignment: Service Proposition Assessment & Future-Readiness

Vanderlande’s service proposition is the full set of service products, including digital services, offered to our customers. These services are combined to form either a Support Service Contract or a Site-Based Service Contract. As our portfolio evolves and digitalization accelerates, we must ensure the proposition is clear, coherent, future-proof, and supported by a robust governance and readiness model for adding new services.

Department description

You will be performing this internship within the Service Excellence Department. This is a small global team that drives improvements for the different Service Teams around the world. This can be on Service Operations Support, Capability Management, Service Development and Strategy & Governance. Your mentor will be the Service Excellence Manager who is responsible for the Service Development scope.

In this central team you are connected to colleagues around the globe. Teams and roles that you can connect with are process engineers, either from the Service Desk or form Site Based Teams in the field, but also subject matter experts around the Service Organization and Technical experts from the ICT organization.

Tasks/responsibilities

As a student you will deliver a structured assessment and design that addresses three core questions:

1. Current State

  • How is the service proposition currently defined and set up?
  • What are the building blocks, definitions, and how do services combine into contracts?

2. Future-Readiness

  • Is the proposition fit for the next 3–5 years (including digital services)?
  • What changes/additions are required (portfolio, definitions, packaging, pricing logic, dependencies, SLAs)?

3. Service Onboarding & Readiness

  • What requirements should be met before a new service is added to the proposition?
  • What does a standard implementation lead time look like (how many weeks before contract start should development/enablement begin)?
  • How do we ensure all activities are completed so the service is embedded and executable with quality?

Your profile

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to systematically assess processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • The ability to perform a process analysis and modelling, mapping workflows and recognizing bottlenecks.
  • Strong communication and interview skills, being able to conduct interviews with product managers and service managers.
  • Have affinity and fun in the area of “Service Logistics”.
  • *Mandatory enrolment to a Dutch Education System & resident of The Netherlands
