Josja shares her academic background, her journey before joining Ormit, and her experiences working in various roles. Discover the unique aspects of Ormit’s culture and the valuable insights she has gained in the corporate world.

What did you do before starting at Ormit Talent?

I studied innovation science at TU Eindhoven. During my studies, I completed an internship at Tennet, a high-voltage network operator. My research focused on the demand-side flexibility of electric vehicles for use in the electricity grid. As a student I worked at the ICT service center of TU Eindhoven as a student assistant, addressing all ICT-related issues for students throughout my study period. I also did another internship with TU Eindhoven and Interreg involved researching energy communities in the Netherlands and formulating policies to stimulate such communities in Europe.

My studies in Innovation Sciences started my interest in energy transition. I took several courses and internships related to this topic. This led me to apply for Ormit Talent, as the company offered diverse assignments in the energy transition during the traineeship, to explore if this is something I wanted to pursue in the future. I also did an assignment outside of this topic, broadening my exposure to various fields, which ultimately influenced my decision to apply for the traineeship.

How are you experiencing your role so far?

For my initial assignment at BAM, I worked as a project lead, overseeing the establishment of energy communities in the Netherlands to facilitate local energy exchange. Additionally, I served as the Product Owner for a dashboard displaying the sustainability achievements of office buildings, focusing on CO2 emissions.

My second assignment at bol.com involved working as a program manager for a logistical service offered to partners, emphasizing stakeholder management, monitoring and reporting service performance, and continuous improvement. My tasks included writing reports about performance, representing different teams within the organization and starting initiatives to improve our service.

What did you want to know before you started working as a Multicompany Management Trainee at Ormit Talent?
