Role Description

As a Transmission & Distribution Engineer, you will be part of the Transmission & Distribution team within the Energy Transition business unit. You will collaborate with colleagues from various disciplines on projects in the Netherlands and abroad, focusing on the expansion and reinforcement of electricity networks. You will actively contribute to the energy transition by developing technical solutions for complex challenges in high and medium voltage infrastructure. You will combine your technical expertise with other fields and work on innovative and sustainable solutions for our clients. In this role, you will develop and elaborate technical designs and engineering deliverables for transmission and distribution projects (such as substations, cable, and overhead line connections).

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and elaborate technical designs and engineering deliverables for transmission and distribution projects (such as substations, cable, and overhead line connections).
  • Serve as the technical point of contact for clients throughout the entire project, from initial contact to delivery.
  • Conduct studies and preparatory work, including feasibility assessments, earthing calculations, field and transient studies.
  • Coordinate with (CAD) engineers and external parties to deliver safe, cost-effective, and innovative solutions.
  • Prepare reports, cost estimates, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues from various (international) teams.
  • Contribute ideas for process improvements and the application of new technologies.
  • Actively participate in knowledge sharing and foster an open, inclusive working atmosphere.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field.
  • Affinity or/and experience with the field of transmission and distribution and associated technologies.
  • Experience with the design or engineering of high and/or medium voltage installations (such as substations, primary and/or secondary systems).
  • Familiarity with relevant software tools (such as Revit, AutoCAD, Elcad, Primtech, PS CAD) is an asset.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proactive, eager to learn, and results-oriented.
  • Proficiency in Dutch is an advantage; good command of English is required.

About the Team:

The Energy Transition business unit consists of approximately 50 colleagues, divided between the Transmission & Distribution consultancy group and the Energy Systems team. Within the consultancy group, you will work with 25 dedicated professionals on innovative solutions for energy infrastructure. Thanks to international collaboration and growing demand for energy transition projects, new propositions and market opportunities emerge regularly. Your role directly contributes to the further sustainability of the Netherlands and beyond.
