Risk and Control Manager

Your mission

Together with the Group Director Internal Audit & Risk Management, you support Risk & Compliance in overseeing our internal control systems within group functions such as Finance, HR, IT, Legal and Business Development Units. Your role involves implementing internal control, supporting audit activities on Group level, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing guidance to enhance governance practices across the organisation.

This is a hybrid role, based out of Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. You are invited to work on-site at the office a minimum of two days per week. We support your home office set-up, travel costs, and provide flexibility regarding hybrid work.

What you'll do

• Support the design and implementation of internal control frameworks tailored to support the operational and compliance needs of various group functions.

• Conduct risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and propose risk mitigation strategies to senior management.

• Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits of group functions.

• Develop and maintain policies and procedures that ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

• Provide training and support to function heads and their teams to foster a strong compliance and risk management culture.

• Monitor and report on the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance measures, providing regular updates to senior management.

• Lead the continuous improvement of internal control systems by leveraging new technologies and methodologies.

What you bring

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in internal control, audit, or risk management, preferably in a corporate setting.

• Strong understanding of internal control frameworks (e.g. COSO) and experience with regulatory compliance across multiple functions.

• You can communicate effectively, articulate complex information and build relationships in an international matrix organisation, in which the working language is English on a global level.

• You have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills and love driving cross-functional projects forward.

• You have obtained a Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

Preferably, you also bring:

• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CISA, CIA, or CRMA) are preferred.
