As Team Lead – Flex Foundry you help build and lead our growing Foundry Product Line. As Team Lead Flex Foundry, you own this chain end-to-end: from customer needs and product roadmap, through design rules, sourcing and development, to manufacturing, testing and delivery. This is a hands-on technical leadership role combining product, technology, customers, people and operations. You will report to our CPO and Co-Founder of Delft Circuits.
Our Foundry operation enables customers to design and manufacture advanced flexible circuits using Delft Circuits’ technology. We develop and maintain our Foundry product offering and roadmap, including the design rules and Process Design Kit (PDK), support customers with their designs, manufacture their products and perform basic testing.
About Delft Circuits
Delft Circuits develops and manufactures advanced cryogenic I/O solutions that enable the next generation of quantum computing systems. Our technology helps leading companies and research institutes around the world build scalable and reliable quantum computers. Working at Delft Circuits means contributing to cutting-edge technology while collaborating with an ambitious and multidisciplinary team.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Own and drive the Foundry product roadmap, translating customer and market needs into priorities for new capabilities, products and improvements
- Own and further develop the Foundry offering, including its PDK, design rules, manufacturing capabilities and testing
- Work directly with customers to understand their applications, assess designs, define technical solutions and turn opportunities into executable projects
- Coordinate product and process development with our Research and Process Development teams and bring new capabilities into the Foundry offering
- Lead the day-to-day Foundry operation, including planning people, equipment, materials and shared lab capacity
- Drive product quality, repeatability, yield and continuous improvement in manufacturing and testing
- Manage technical relationships with external suppliers and project partners for substrates, materials and specialized fabrication steps
- Lead, coach and grow the Foundry team while remaining closely involved in technical and product challenges
- Ensure learnings from customers, projects and manufacturing feed back into the product roadmap, design rules and future Foundry capabilities
- You will report to the CPO (Co-Founder Delft-Circuits)
What You Bring
- A PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Applied Physics, Nanotechnology, Microelectronics or a related field, or equivalent industrial experience
- At least 5 years of experience in a semiconductor fab, flex/PCB manufacturing, microfabrication or comparable high-tech manufacturing environment
- Strong technical understanding of materials, fabrication processes, products and manufacturability
- The ability to translate customer and market needs into product requirements and a technical roadmap
- Experience leading people or technical teams in a development or manufacturing environment
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate people, projects, equipment and competing priorities
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Research, Engineering, suppliers, project partners and customers
- Experience working directly with customers, including scoping technical projects and turning customer needs into solutions
- An entrepreneurial mindset: you identify opportunities and find practical ways to turn them into products and customer projects
Bonus Points for
- Experience owning or contributing to a technical product roadmap
- Experience with PDKs, design rules or design-for-manufacturing
- Experience with flexible substrates, thin-film processing or semiconductor microfabrication
- Experience bringing new technologies or processes from development into a customer-facing product or production environment
- Knowledge of process and quality methods such as DoE, SPC, FMEA and root-cause analysis
- Experience scoping or selling technical development and manufacturing projects
Personal Attributes
You are someone who connects the dots. You understand how customer needs, products, materials, processes, suppliers, manufacturing and testing influence one another — and can translate that understanding into a clear direction for the Foundry.
You combine technical depth with product thinking, strong communication and organization. You are comfortable discussing applications with customers, setting priorities for the product roadmap, solving technical challenges with researchers and partners, and planning manufacturing with your team.
Most importantly, you take ownership and make things happen. The Foundry operation is growing and still developing, and you see the opportunity to shape its products, team and capabilities for the next stage.
Why Join Delft Circuits?
This role offers unusual breadth: product, technology, customers, people and operations come together in one position. You will have significant ownership over how the Delft Circuits Foundry develops — from its product roadmap and technical capabilities to its team, partner network and customer projects.
