Are you passionate about solving the most complex challenges facing the energy transition? Do you enjoy combining strategic thinking with rigorous analysis to help organisations make better decisions?
If you are looking for a consulting career where strategy meets quantitative analysis, and where your work has a tangible impact across Europe, we'd love to meet you.
Who we are
Magnus Energy helps organisations navigate the energy transition. As one of Europe's leading energy consultancies, we support system operators, energy suppliers, industrial energy users, regulators, governments and investors, from defining long-term strategy through to implementation.
Our work combines strategic advisory, market analysis, quantitative modelling and programme delivery. We help our clients make informed decisions in an increasingly complex energy landscape by combining deep sector expertise with pragmatic consulting.
Our international team includes management consultants, economists, engineers, market specialists and programme managers working from five European offices. Together, we share one ambition: helping build a secure, sustainable and affordable energy system.
What you will do
As a Managing Consultant – Energy Markets & Strategy, you will play a leading role in consulting projects addressing some of the most pressing challenges facing the European energy sector.
Depending on your background, you will contribute to established work in energy strategy, European markets and complex energy programmes, while helping us expand in areas such as industrial electrification, flexibility, energy economics and commercial strategy.
You will join our Management Consultancy team. The client focus differs by office:
You will work directly with senior client stakeholders while leading multidisciplinary project teams to develop practical, evidence-based solutions.
Your work may include:
No two projects are the same. One week you may be supporting a European TSO in defining its long-term strategy; the next you could be helping an industrial client optimise its electricity procurement strategy or advising a regulator on future market design.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for an experienced consultant who combines strong problem-solving skills with a genuine interest in the European energy sector.
You bring:
What we offer
A stimulating working environment: a team of around 110+ consultants and experts. All motivated professionals who respect each other and want to learn from each other. No egos, but commitment and fun.
A truly international team: Our international team with 17+ nationalities works from offices in Naarden (the Netherlands) and satellite offices in Cologne (Germany), Brussels (Belgium), Copenhagen (Denmark) and Vienna (Austria).
A flexible way of working: Working for a variety of clients across Europe, we offer a flexible work environment tuned to the new work approach.
A unique opportunity for professional growth: We highly value the professional growth of our team. You will learn most "on the job" in this challenging position and work environment.
A professional academy: We offer an extensive training program. Our Magnus Energy Academy provides a diverse programme, from courses targeting the skills and knowledge needed to perform as a consultant in the energy sector, to more specialised courses designed to complement your chosen growth path. We are always developing new trainings to keep meeting our consultants’ needs.
And, most importantly, the opportunity to contribute to a sustainable and resilient energy system across Europe - and a bright future for all.
Magnus Energy helps to build strong energy systems that fully incorporate renewables. Balancing sustainability, security, and affordability. Navigating the challenges of the ever-evolving energy transition.
Our technical experts conceptualise changes in models, grids and regulations. We manage complex programs, fostering trust and progress in international cooperation. Additionally, we advise individual organisations in navigating the energy transition.
