Head of Enterprise Data Management

Within Value Stream Technology, you will play a key role in shaping ABN AMRO’s enterprise-wide data foundation. You will lead the Enterprise Data Management capability, ensuring that enterprise data assets are consistently defined, integrated and governed, enabling high-quality, compliant and value-driven data usage across the bank.

Your job

As Head of Enterprise Data Management, your role is both strategic and operational. You lead the organisation and contribute directly to the execution of the bank’s data and technology strategy within the Data Engineering & Enablement Value Domain. You are responsible for establishing a robust enterprise data foundation that supports reuse, transparency and compliance, while enabling business domains to extract value from high-quality data.

Your responsibilities

Leadership & organisation

• Lead and develop a high-performing team of data professionals across Enterprise Data Management
• Act as an inspiring people leader, fostering performance, growth and continuous improvement
• Build strong collaboration across Value Stream Technology, CDAO and business domains

Enterprise data management ownership

• Own and drive enterprise-wide master data management capabilities for enterprise data assets
• Ensure consistent definition, integration and maintenance of enterprise data assets across domains
• Establish and maintain a “single source of truth” for key enterprise data (e.g. organisation, reference and party data)

Strategy & execution

• Translate strategic objectives into scalable data management capabilities, standards and solutions
• Drive alignment between business needs, data governance frameworks and data platform capabilities
• Contribute to the evolution of the federated data organisation, enabling domain autonomy within central frameworks

Data governance, quality & compliance

• Ensure data is managed in a consistent, transparent and compliant manner across its lifecycle
• Safeguard adherence to regulatory requirements and internal control frameworks
• Collaborate closely with Data Governance & Management and risk functions to ensure a compliant data landscape

Stakeholder management

• Engage with senior stakeholders across CDAO, CIO and data domains and business lines
• Enable effective collaboration under the “two-in-a-box” model between Technology and business leadership (CDAO)
• Drive adoption of enterprise data standards, services and solutions across the organisation

Operational excellence

• Ensure reliable, scalable and secure delivery of enterprise data management services
• Optimise processes and platforms to improve efficiency, data quality and time-to-value
• Oversee budget planning, cost optimisation and investment decisions

Working environment

The Value Stream Technology organisation provides the core IT platforms and services underpinning the bank’s digital, data and AI capabilities. It integrates data, technology and security into one coherent structure with unified governance and prioritisation. Within this environment, Enterprise Data Management is positioned as a key capability within Data Engineering & Enablement, working closely with other domains such as Data Governance & Management and Advanced Analytics.

Your profile

We are looking for a leader who combines strong data expertise with strategic vision and execution power:

• Academic degree (MSc or equivalent) in a relevant field
• Experience in running mission critical, highly available applications and/or platforms
• Extensive experience (> 10 years) in Data Management, Master Data Management or Data Governance
• Proven leadership experience in complex, matrix organisations (> 5 years)
• Strong understanding of data platforms, data lifecycle management and enterprise data architecture
• Experience in regulated environments (financial services preferred)
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Strategic mindset combined with hands-on, pragmatic execution
• Ability to drive change and build alignment across multiple domains
