About the role

We’re looking for an Events & Community Marketer to build and scale our HR and People events and community across Europe. You will own our event engine end-to-end. From online webinars to tradeshows and intimate dinners and drinks to our signature OpenUp Awards.

This role combines creativity, operational excellence, and community-building with a commercial mindset. You’ll bring our brand to life, create memorable experiences, and ensure event and community programmes drive leads and engagement. You understand that it’s important to ensure a return on investment, also for these human driven channels.

You will be part of the Marketing team and work closely with our sales, product and customer success teams to turn every event into a growth lever.

What you will be doing

Own the OpenUp Awards

Lead the full planning and execution of the annual OpenUp Awards, from nominations and jury coordination to sponsorships, event flow, content, and follow-up. Make it a standout moment for our brand and community.

Lead our event calendar

Manage our online, business-focused masterclass series. Plan and run key tradeshows in Germany, the Netherlands, and potential other markets and organise quarterly HR dinners and networking drinks. Oversee vendors, venues, logistics, timelines, and on-site execution.

Build and nurture our HR & People community

Build programs that keep HR professionals connected beyond the event, referral flows, follow-ups, and online touchpoints.
Grow the community consistently and maintain strong engagement.Encourage colleagues to actively participate as OpenUp ambassadors.

Content & communications

Create campaigns, invitations, landing pages, speaker briefs, and all pre-event content that drives attendance.
Lead post-event nurturing, recap content, and follow-up communications.

Revenue impact & operations

Ensure events generate qualified leads and hand them off smoothly to Sales.
Track cost per lead across event and community channels.Deliver post-event reports, insights, and recommendations, and keep experimenting with new formats and tactics.

About you

Next to that, you:

  • Have 2–4 years of experience in events, community, field marketing or a similar role (B2B preferred).
  • Bring strong project-management skills: timelines, budgets, vendors, logistics.
  • Are energised by hosting and engaging with attendees at live events.
  • Can write clear, compelling communications (emails, invitations, landing pages).
  • Are comfortable with tools like HubSpot, Wordpress, Canva or similar.
  • You understand AI will change ways of working and are comfortable using large language models and other AI tools.
  • Understand we need to show measurable impact.
  • Speak English and Dutch fluently.
  • When not at events, you enjoy being in the Amsterdam office.
