What you will be responsible for?

  • Planning, preparing, and independently conducting audits (including special audits) in all organizational units of the bank and the group in accordance with technical and operational standards
  • Analysis and assessment within the scope of audits, in particular with regard to:
  • Functionality, effectiveness, and adequacy of the internal control system
  • Application, functionality, effectiveness, and adequacy of the risk management and control systems, reporting, and finance and accounting
  • Effectiveness of measures to prevent and detect fraudulent activities
  • Compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements
  • Compliance with company policies and procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Regularity of all operational and business processes (structural and procedural organization) and regulations, as well as arrangements for the protection of assets
  • Independent preparation of meaningful audit reports, including actionable recommendations for remedying deficiencies, in English
  • Discussion and presentation of audit results with the heads of the organizational units and regular monitoring of implementation as part of follow-up
  • Supporting the internal audit department in planning, managing, and reporting on audits

What do we want from you?

  • A successfully completed university degree, banking training, or comparable qualification
  • Audit-specific expertise in audit standards, methodology, and processes
  • Several years of audit or examination experience at credit institutions/banks or financial services companies
  • Knowledge of the business and administrative processes of a credit institution, as well as securities products and their settlement
  • Good knowledge of regulatory requirements (KWG; CRR, MaRisk, WpHG, GwG etc)
  • Analytical thinking and precise communication skills
  • Confident use of MS Office
  • Very good knowledge of English (spoken and written), Dutch and German is a plus
  • Strong communication skills, ability to work in a team, high level of commitment, flexibility, and a high degree of quality and service awareness
  • Careful working style, ability to deal with conflict
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
