We are looking for an energetic Accounts Receivable Specialist who thrives in a dynamic retail environment and enjoys close contact with colleagues and customers.

Job description

Why we are here

Tony’s Chocolonely is committed to ending exploitation in cocoa. We are an impact company that makes chocolate, not a chocolate company that makes impact. With incredibly tasty chocolate, we lead by example, demonstrating that ethical practices and success can go hand in hand. Through Tony's Open Chain (TOC), mission allies like Albert Heijn, Ben & Jerry's, Jokolade, and Aldi have embraced a fairer, more transparent supply chain for their chocolate too.

What you will do

We’re looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our Finance team in Amsterdam and take ownership of the order to cash process for our Benelux markets. Your main goal is to ensure accurate billing, healthy cash collection, and timely reconciliation of customer accounts, helping maintain strong cash flow and smooth daily operations within the Benelux & Beyond (BNB) Sales team.

You will work in a dynamic retail environment with multiple customer administrations and varying agreements. This means dealing with retail specific exceptions, payment arrangements and occasional complexity. You are eager to learn how to navigate this landscape, understand commercial dynamics and gradually take more ownership in setting clear expectations and solutions.

You’ll support improvements across the AR process, helping reduce manual work and prevent disputes. You will collaborate closely with sales, operations and finance colleagues across markets and be part of a global Finance team of Accounts Receivable specialists. You will report to the Financial Control Manager O2C based in Amsterdam.

All wrapped up

You help maintain accurate customer data, ensure correct invoicing and contribute to a smooth order to cash process.

  • Maintain accurate customer master data in our ERP and CRM systems (we use Microsoft Dynamics Business Central and Salesforce).

  • Support timely and correct invoicing and monitor incoming payments.

  • Proactively follow up on overdue invoices to reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) in a positive Tony's way by e-mailing or calling customers.

  • Assist with daily reconciliations and help resolve unapplied cash or mismatches.

  • Support the preparation of weekly overviews on customers, payment status and accounts receivable balances.

  • Help investigate billing disputes, retail deductions and payment differences together with sales and operations.

  • Keep documentation complete and audit ready.

  • Contribute ideas and support small improvements within the O2C process.

  • Prepare aging reports and support periodic credit checks.

Job requirements

Our ideal new flavour

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in AR, O2C, audit or credit control, preferably within a larger or more complex organization

  • Experience working with an ERP system and ideally familiarity with a CRM system; experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or Salesforce is a plus

  • Basic understanding of billing, collections, cash application and dispute handling, with the motivation to deepen your expertise

  • Comfortable working with different stakeholders and open to learning how to balance commercial relationships with financial boundaries

  • Analytical mindset and interested in understanding aging reports and collection trends

  • Organised, detail oriented, proactive and clear in communication in both Dutch and English; fluency in both is a must

  • Confident working with Excel and financial systems

  • Someone who enjoys being in direct contact with colleagues and customers and is not afraid to pick up the phone

  • Eager to learn, take ownership and grow within the role

Our benefits (the icing on the cake)

At Tony's you will get the opportunity to be part of something extraordinary; first, by making a real impact in the world but also enjoying the nice benefits we provide as you help us succeed. We are dedicated to enabling all Tonys to grow and develop their careers and therefore we offer training programs, regular feedback cycles, coaching and a generous L&D budget. We also offer a wide range of additional benefits, including a lunch, company bonus, minimum of 28 holidays, inspirational team updates, unforgettable quarterly events, and unlimited chocolate. But we also know chocolate will not cover the bills, so we have made sure your salary is just as rewarding.

Tony’s Chocolonely wants to make all chocolate 100% slave free. Not just our chocolate, but all chocolate worldwide. Not exactly the average company, right? Instead a chocolate company whose primary goal is to resolve a social issue in the world.
