We are looking for an independent, hands-on, and proactive development specialist with a passion for prebiotics and side stream valorization. With a solid foundation in food science, food technology, (bio)chemical engineering, or (bio)chemistry, the developer brings expertise in prebiotics and side stream valorization. The role involves supporting new product development projects, applying prebiotics and side stream knowledge to improve products and processes, and working hands-on in laboratory and pilot plant settings as part of the bigger goal to advance new products from lab scale to factory implementation.

Ce que nous demandons

  • Master’s degree in food science, food technology, (bio)chemical engineering, or (bio)chemistry, or a related field with 1-2 years of experience.
  • Proficiency in experimental design, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Hands-on experience in a laboratory or (small) pilot plant setting.
  • Experience with, or affinity with (carbohydrate) analytics.
  • Experience with, or affinity with enzyme application work.
  • Digitally aware.
  • Accurate work and reporting.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient communication skills in English.
  • Can-do mentality.

In this position, your tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Conduct practical experiments and product development tasks on the topics of prebiotics and side stream valorisation, ensuring high standards of accuracy and reliability.
  • Support scale up of new or improved products and processes to an operational environment. In all instances adhering to innovation, safety, quality, and local site procedures.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory, mini-pilot and pilot plant equipment.
  • Set up, plan, execute, analyze, and report on experiments, ensuring proper documentation and data integrity.
  • Contribute to multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating organizational and problem-solving skills.

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D experts (e.g. process technology, analytics) and production, to drive product development initiatives.

In this role, you will be part of the Nutritional Lipids, Prebiotics and Side Stream valorization R&D team, a team composed of experts, project managers and product developers. You will primarily work on Prebiotics and Side stream valorisation projects and are based in Wageningen.
