We are looking for a Buying & Merchandising Executive for our Dhaka office who is ready to commit for several years. You will work directly with suppliers and factories in Bangladesh, stay on top of the order process, and coordinate closely with our European teams to keep everything moving smoothly.

About the Dhaka office

HVEG’s Dhaka office was established in 1995 and has been a core part of our sourcing and production set-up ever since. It’s important to us to have someone from Europe consistently based in Dhaka, to strengthen day-to-day coordination and ensure strong alignment between teams.

You will work together with the General Manager who leads the local operation. Your as Buying & Merchandising Executive will require you to be in frequent contact with the buying and merchandising functions and with all business units across HVEG Group, helping to keep priorities, information, and ways of working aligned.

Your role as Buying & Merchandising Executive

As Buying & Merchandising Executive, you are involved in the full order journey on a daily basis and serve as an important point of contact between suppliers, the Dhaka office, and our European offices.

You keep a close eye on orders and delivery timelines, flag issues early, and take ownership of follow-up to keep commitments on track. You contribute to supplier sourcing and selection, and help resolve practical issues that come up at factory level. You spend time on the factory floor, closely monitor what’s happening, and make sure agreements are translated into action.

This position suits someone who is ready to step up, take responsibility, and keen to gain an inside view of how an international fashion supply chain works in practice. You stay calm under pressure, and you can perform in a fast-moving environment where circumstances can be challenging.

What you will do

• Monitor the day-to-day order process, from placement through to delivery
• Maintain strong working relationships with factories and suppliers
• Identify and help resolve production, quality, and logistics issues
• Contribute to activities relating to sourcing and selection of new suppliers
• Work closely with buyers, merchandisers, and business units in Europe
• Support quality checks and logistics coordination
• Coordinate with local management and European offices

What you bring

• Several years of experience in buying, merchandising, sourcing, or production within the fashion or textile industry
• Strong process awareness and analytical capability, with an eye for commercial priorities
• The ability to keep overview, take initiative, and follow through
• Clear communication skills and a practical, solution-focused approach
• A no-nonsense mindset, resilience, adaptability, and confidence
• Willingness to live and work in a multicultural environment in Dhaka for at least several years
• Excellent English, spoken and written, is a requirement; Dutch is an advantage
