Your role

As Area Sales Manager, you combine technical insight with long-term commercial strategy. You take the time to truly understand complex customer environments and translate this knowledge into clear, future-proof solutions. Success in this role means listening well, asking the right questions, understanding how a line truly operates, and only then proposing the right solution.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and nurture long-term customer relationships in meat processing
  • Visit plants and truly understand how their processes run
  • Translate customer challenges into well-grounded, integrated processing solutions
  • Lead and manage complex sales projects from first exploration to final delivery
  • Work closely with Account Managers, sharing technical and process insights to support their development
  • Collaborate with internal technical, engineering, and product teams to create the right solution
  • Represent JBT Marel at exhibitions, demonstrations, and industry events with a humble, solution-driven approach
  • Maintain an accurate, long-term CRM pipeline reflecting multi-year opportunity development
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor movements, and customer feedback to shape future opportunities

Who we are really looking for

Beyond degrees and job titles, your background and mindset are key.

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree
  • Minimum 3 years of B2B sales or project management experience, preferably in technical or mechanical solutions
  • Strong curiosity and a natural tendency to ask questions
  • Ability to understand complex technical details and processes
  • Long-term mindset: comfortable working on opportunities that may take years to mature
  • Ability to collaborate across cultures, disciplines, and roles
  • Understanding of market dynamics and ability to translate these into future opportunities
  • Good project management skills – able to guide stakeholders over long cycles
  • Fluent in English; other languages are a plus
  • Analytical, solution-oriented and results-driven mindset
  • Willingness to travel internationally (up to approx. 30%)
