Internship - Global Commerce Strategy

The internship

The Global Commerce Strategy team are responsible for ensuring the organization is ready for the future, enabling our business leaders to make the right choices to grow in an ever changing environment.

As an intern in the Global Strategy team you will have the opportunity to work on:

  • Generate actionable insights using Sell Out data to support HEINEKEN's long-term goals.
  • Work closely with Global Commerce team stakeholders, including Brand and Category teams, to deliver data-driven solutions.
  • Encourage a self-serve culture by training teams on agency platforms and ensuring access to relevant data.
  • Build, deliver, and continually enhance regular reporting for marketing and category teams.
  • Assist the Global Commercial Strategy team with projects identifying short-term growth opportunities in key markets.
  • Create impactful presentations and visual assets to communicate European commercial strategy.
  • Analyze consumer behavior and purchase patterns to guide strategic decisions.
  • Coordinate between local markets, data vendors, and the global commerce team for timely, accurate datasets.
  • Identify and highlight key trends shaping the beverage landscape's future.
  • Liaise with Operating Companies worldwide to support portfolio, category, and innovation choices.
  • Assist in delivering long-term strategic projects for the global leadership team.

The department

The Global Commerce Strategy team was formed in 2023. Led by Matteo Peccei, there are 8 full time members of the team. The intern will support across the team and have access to many different departments, leadership styles and projects. The team works collaboratively and includes all voices and points of view.

We want a dynamic, forward focused, enthusiastic student who is passionate about the world of beverages (beer and beyond) and is excited by the world around them.

We need someone who is smart and can readily turn data and information into insight and action.

We need someone who has experience of working with complex data tools and solving problems using data.

We love team players, someone who is willing to get involved in all projects and enjoys learning from a variety of people and leadership styles.

Open to those from all backgrounds, but we particularly welcome those studying business/ commerce, marketing, strategy, innovation, entrepreneurship, economics or statistics.

We want someone who is up to date with social media, is interested in the world and aware of global trends.

We would love someone who is passionate about beer and wants to learn more about all beverages.

Conditions of HEINEKEN

  1. You are enrolled at an educational institution.
  2. In the case of non-EU nationality, you must be registered as an intern with a Dutch educational institution, from which we receive proof of enrollment for the current academic year from you.
  3. In case of EU nationality, you may also be registered as an intern at educational institutions outside the EU.
  4. Living in the Netherlands during internship (HEINEKEN does not facilitate housing).
