Job description

We are looking for a Junior Technologist within our Electronics Quality team who will ensure that our Karsten products are safe and delivered on time to our retail clients. You will support the Quality team in evaluating products from start to finish and in preparing the related reports. Together with the Quality team, you will work closely with colleagues from Project Management, Buying team, as well as our team in China. You will ensure that all products comply with legal requirements and will monitor developments in laws and regulations relevant to the product groups in which Karsten International operates. In addition, you will liaise with suppliers, laboratories, and inspection companies.

Your activities:

  • Support Senior Technologists and Technical Managers with product quality reviews, technical assessments, and continuous improvement activities across consumer electronic product ranges
  • Review, evaluate, and interpret internal and external test reports, drawing clear conclusions, identifying risks or non-conformances, and recommending appropriate corrective actions
  • Review and approve packaging, labelling, and user instructions to ensure accuracy, regulatory compliance, and alignment with product specifications and safety requirements
  • Support the creation, tracking, and follow-up of Corrective and Preventive Action Plans (CAPAs) with suppliers to address quality, safety, or compliance issues
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Buyers, Sourcing, and Quality teams to support product development timelines, technical decision-making, and issue resolution
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to Buying and Sourcing teams to support product selection, specification improvements, and quality enhancements
  • Coordinate products through the development lifecycle from sourcing and sample approval through to production readiness and shipment
  • Take responsibility for maintaining accurate, complete, and up-to-date technical files, including test reports, declarations, packaging artwork, and instruction manuals

Job requirements

Must Have Experience

  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a quality role
  • Knowledge of product safety standards
  • Background in engineering
  • Fluent in written, reading and verbal English
  • Knowledge of key regulations

Additional Skills/ Nice to Have :

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, test results, and technical information
  • Effective stakeholder management, able to work with internal teams (Quality, Buying, Compliance) and external suppliers
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, particularly when documenting issues or explaining technical topics
  • Experience or awareness of cross-cultural working, especially when collaborating with overseas suppliers and manufacturers
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to plan and meet deadlines
  • Problem-solving mindset, focused on identifying root causes and implementing practical solutions
  • Ability to prioritise and multi-task in a fast-paced, product-driven environment
  • Good attention to detail, particularly when reviewing specifications, test reports, and compliance documentation
  • Experience in retail; experience working with Chinese suppliers
  • Experience supporting or interacting with Quality investigations/Corrective action plans
